PP-PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Fundamental Overview

A building’s doors and windows, due to their functional requirements and associated hardware limitations, are a weak link in blast and pressure resistant design. Since doors and windows are likely to be the largest openings into a building, they provide the largest potential source of gas pressure or blast wave propagation if the opening fails. Therefore, doors and windows need to be as strong as the requirements for the design area walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components.

In addition to being an acknowledged leader in the design of custom blast doors, Overly Door has developed a pre-engineered line of single and pairs of blast doors.

Overly Pre-Engineered Mid-Range Blast Doors (3 psi to 20 psi):

The MRB Models are personnel-size 2-3/4" thick heavy-duty hollow metal doors. These doors are equipped with Overly's concealed single or multi-point latching pin design that is aesthetically pleasing, long lasting, and requires minimal maintenance. The doors are mounted on Overly's proprietary M-1800 mortise hinges or P-800 surface mounted hinges. Both hinge models feature precision radial and thrust bearings that assure smooth operation and long life. These doors are for use where equivalent static loads are in the 3 to 20 psi range.

All models are available in single and double leaf swings. Horizontal sliding doors of similar construction and load ratings are also available.

- Available in singles for openings up to 4' x 8' and pairs up to 8' x 8'.

Overly Door also provides the following:
- Pre-Engineered Very Low Range Blast and Low Range Blast Models.
- Custom Designed and High Range Blast Doors.
- Blast Resistant Windows
- Pressure Resistant Doors
- Watertight Doors
- Hinges, Lockworks, and Door Operators

UA-USES, APPLICATIONS

Anti-hazard doors are designed to protect against the problems and dangers created by an accidental or planned explosion or pressure leak as the result of:
- Chemical and petrochemical plant operations
- The manufacture, transport and storage of explosives
- Fuel gas leaks in buildings
- The manufacture, handling, and storage of combustible dusts.

Typical applications for Overly Pre-Engineered Blast Doors include chemical and petrochemical plants, waste recovery facilities, military installations, pharmaceutical plants, food product plants, engine test cells, and virtually any location where personnel and equipment need to be protected.

AI-ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION

All Overly Anti-Hazard Doors are factory hung in the frame, with all restraining hardware applied and checked for fit and operation prior to shipment.

TS-TECHNICAL SUPPORT

All designs have been substantiated by structural calculations. Calculations cover every load-bearing component of the door, frame, restraining hardware, and anchoring system. Approval drawings and calculations can be provided quickly for review.

Two monographs on blast and pressure resistant doors are available from Overly Door Company. The detailed pieces discuss and describe Overly's Blast Resistant and Pressure Resistant Door Products. Included with the Monographs are annotated long form guide specifications that are written in standard CSI format. Short form guide specifications are included in Overly's Blast and Pressure Resistant Door Catalog, Sweets # 08348/OVE. These guide specifications are offered by Overly Door without copyright protection as a public service. Some firms may wish to input them into word processing systems; Overly grants permission in advance for such use.
