1800 Series Telephone Entry Systems (Auto-Dialers)
DoorKing telephone entry systems require a touch-tone, loop-start, dedicated telephone line to be installed by the telephone company for proper operation. These systems essentially store resident telephone numbers in their internal memory, and then dial them out when the proper code is entered on the systems keypad. All systems utilize EEPROM memory so that programming will not be lost in the event of a power outage, and include two form C dry contact relays for control of two doors or gates. Full duplex communication, to prevent lock-up from high background noise, is a standard feature on all DoorKing telephone entry systems. Other standard features include: hands free communication (hand sets can be ordered if required), keyless programmable entry codes to allow residents and vendors direct access, remote programming allows off-site programming through touch tone telephones, multiple system programming allows two or more units to share the same phone line, 10 and 11 digit (long distance) dialing capability, rotary or touch tone dial out to meet any telephone service requirement, programmable talk time (3 seconds - 5 minutes), programmable relay strike time (0 - 99 seconds), four programmable relay functions (momentary contact - latch - unlatch - latch one hour with automatic release), remote relay activation using touch tone telephone, and built-in postal lock provision (except 1808) for mail carrier access. In addition to these features, the models 1802, 1803, 1808, and 1810 also include a built-in clock/calendar, the ability to program directory codes to be one, two, three, or four digits in length, and to randomly program directory code numbers. The built in time clock provides automatic relay activation at preprogrammed times to allow for automatic door unlock and lock time zones, time restricted entry codes, and "Flash" entry codes which are valid on a single day only, and then automatically delete themselves. Most models are available in surface mount and flush mount configurations. Surface mount units come in a black hooded housing with a brushed stainless steel faceplate. Flush mount units are available in either a brushed stainless steel finish or a gold plated finish. The 1814, 1815, and 1817 models are available in a wall mount style. Flush mount and wall mount units are not intended for direct outdoor installation. A fluorescent light kit, part number 1720-080, is available for additional lighting on all phone systems.

Models:
1802: The 1802 is a basic system available as a surface mount unit only. The 1802 is lighted and includes a built-in LCD programming display. Add-on directories can be utilized with the 1802 to provide a resident listing for guest. Directory models 1701 (20 names) and 1702 (60 names) use 1/4 inch labeling tape that is easily inserted or removed from slots. These directories are not lighted. The1710 directory can be utilized with this unit to provide a lighted and simple to maintain resident directory. This directory uses columned sheet paper that can be easily printed on a word processing program making maintenance easy. Maximum telephone number storage capacity is 1000, maximum four-digit entry code capacity is 1012, and maximum five-digit entry code capacity is six. The 1802 measures 12 inches high, 6 1/2 inches wide, and 5 inches deep at the top and 3 3/8 inches deep at the bottom.

1803: The 1803 is like the 1802, but is available in a surface mount or flush mount design. The 1803 system does not include any directory and is not lighted, but it does include an LCD programming display that allows the installer or manager to view information prior to entering it into the system memory. The LCD display will also provide the programmer with programming prompts when programming the system. The model 1710 directory can be utilized with this unit to provide a lighted and simple to maintain resident directory. This directory uses columned sheet paper that can be easily printed on a word processing program making maintenance easy. Maximum telephone number storage is 1000, maximum four-digit entry code capacity is 1012, and maximum five-digit entry code capacity is six. The surface mount unit measures 13 inches high, 11 1/4 inches wide, and 4 3/4 inches deep at the top and 3 1/4 inches deep at the bottom. The flush mount unit measures 13 1/2 inches high and 12 inches wide. A flush mount installation kit is used to install the flush mount units into a wall or pilaster. The kit includes a rough in box and a trim ring. The rough in box requires an opening of 14 1/2 inches high, 12 3/8 inches wide, 3 1/8 inches deep. Dimensions are the same for the companion 1710 directory.

1808: The 1808 is designed primarily for residential applications, but has the same capabilities and features as the other 1800 series systems. The 1808 is laid out in a "horizontal" format and is available as a surface mount unit only. The 1808 is lighted and includes an etched faceplate with guest dialing instructions. Although designed for residential applications, the 1808 can store up to 1000 different phone numbers, 1012 four-digit entry codes, and 6 five-digit entry codes in its memory, making it an ideal choice of product to use when more than one phone number needs to be addressed in a residential application. The 1808 measures 7 3/8 inches high, 11 inches wide, and 6 3/8 inches deep at the top and 4 3/4 inches deep at the bottom.

1810: The 1810 uses a built-in paper directory and is ideal for use in small to medium sized applications. The built in directory on this unit uses 8 1/2 x 11 sheet paper and can hold up to 100 names. For larger applications, the model 1710 add on directory can expand the resident listing by up to 200 names. The directory can be easily maintained by use of a word processing program. The 1810 system, and its companion 1710 directory, are available in surface mount or flush mount styles. The surface mount unit includes keypad lighting and an LCD programming display that allows installers to view information prior to entering it into the system memory, and provides prompts during programming. The directory on both surface and flush mount units are lighted.

1814: The 1814 unit uses a built in electronic directory eliminating the need for additional add on directories, and makes it a complete system in one convenient package. The 1814 is ideal for any size application and is available in surface mount, flush mount, or wall mount styles. The systems built-in electronic LCD directory is a single line "super-twist" system that uses 1/2 inch characters for easy reading from any angle. While the system is not in use, a user programmable message scrolls across the screen from right to left, followed by the system operating instructions. This allows the system to be personalized for the application. The life expectancy of the LCD directory is 100,000 hours, an important consideration since the system operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The 1814 includes two large A and Z push buttons that make it easy for visitors to scroll through the directory. When either the A or Z buttons are pressed, the scrolling starts in the center of the resident data base. Holding the A button down will cause the directory to scroll rapidly towards the A's, while holding the Z button down will cause the directory to scroll rapidly towards the Z's. The directory will display one name at a time if the button is pressed and then released. One the desired name is displayed, the visitor simply presses the large "CALL" button. This causes the system to dial out and eliminates the need to enter the residents directory code on the systems keypad. Maximum telephone number and four-digit entry code storage capacity is 3000, and maximum resident name storage is 3000. The wall mount units measure 14 1/4 inches high, 12 3/8 inches wide, 3 1/8 inch deep.
