Kalwall Panels

Kalwall roof panels complete the total composite system of aluminum box beam rafters which provide lateral strength to the system and are locked and sealed together to form a durable, rigid cohesive structure. The panels and beams are thermally compatible and the patented overlap horizontal joint eliminates potential leaks that endlessly plague other systems.

There is no substitute for Kalwall's composite fenestration technology! Kalwall is a true sandwich panel formed by permanently bonding specially formulated fiberglass reinforced translucent faces to a structural composite I-beam core. The resultant panel is a full 2-3/4" (70mm) thick, yet weighs only 1-1/2 pounds per square foot. The performance characteristics are no comparison to plastic glazing panels measuring only 5/8" (16mm) thick or 1" insulated glass. Kalwall is up to 5 times more efficient than 1" insulated glass!

Highly insulated Kalwall panels have U-values ranging from a standard of .29 down to an optional .10 (which equates to an R-value of 10) as measured by a National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) certified laboratory. It's the most highly insulating, diffuse-light-transmitting system in the world! And Kalwall's low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) significantly reduces summer heat buildup. Substantial savings can be realized in HVAC equipment sizing and heating and cooling costs.

A thermal break design option provides the ultimate in energy performance and condensation control. Kalwall's thermal break technology provides a CRF (Condensation Resistance Factor) of 80 when measured at the grid.

Unsurpassed quality daylighting is the result of glass-fiber technology, which diffuses daylight and achieves natural brightness without glare or direct hot spots. This unique, double diffused light creates what has been called "museum-quality daylighting" and is ideal for all living things... people, plants, and animals. Also, Kalwall's spectrally balanced light shows the true colors of interior finishes and merchandise in retail environments.

Tinted exterior face sheets are available in aqua, rose, ice blue and blue green to compliment other roof systems or adjoining buildings. Interior face sheets are crystal or white.
