HARLEQUIN WOODSPRING™ BASKETWEAVE FLOOR SYSTEM

Harlequin Woodspring™ Basketweave floor draws on concepts dating back to the 19th century. Our modern interpretation blends a traditional construction approach with the technology of today’s materials. The “spring” in basketweave construction comes from the natural flexing and recovery of the triple layer of battens (see diagram), which is enhanced by shock-absorbent elastomer blocks.

Acoustical and thermal insulation are ensured by the placement of mineral fiber into the construction (not shown in our diagram).

The selection of lumber, batten and pad spacing, insulation and installation are proprietary to Harlequin and critical to long-term performance. Harlequin’s tried and tested design has established the corporation’s unrivaled reputation in this specialized area. Each customer installation is backed by the Harlequin warranty.

Harlequin’s Woodspring™ basketweave floor is only available for installation by Harlequin’s Contracts Division or by approved installers under the supervision of one of our trained technicians.

SPECIFICATIONS

Composition
Harlequin’s Woodspring™ is constructed using three layers of long grain low knot clear Southern yellow pine with shock absorbent elastomer blocks positioned on 16” centers on the underside of the first layer. Load distribution panels of either plywood or hardwood (according to the customer’s specifications) are added with adhesive and non-return mechanical fasteners. A permanent surface of either vinyl dance floor or hardwood completes Woodspring’s construction.

Dimensions
Woodspring™ basketweave is 3 1/2” nominal depending upon the surface requested. Architect specifications are available upon request.

Harlequin has created six dance surfaces for Liberty™ Sprung Floor Panels. Cascade is the ultimate heavy-duty dance surface. Studio sets the standard for both studio and touring floors. Allegro is the thickest dance floor surface in the world, reducing fatigue and impact injury to extraordinarily low levels. Studio “B” and Tempo are ideally suited for modern and barefoot dancing, and Fiesta is specifically formulated for ballroom, country, line or Irish dance (permanent installations only).
