HARLEQUIN LIBERTY™ SPRUNG PANEL SYSTEM

In two versions for either portable or permanent installation, Harlequin Liberty™ Sprung Panel System is the ultimate dance floor – a blend of modern materials, technology and dance expertise – developed over more than 20 years to provide ultimate area and point elasticity with extremely low maintenance.

Harlequin Liberty™ is a modular floor manufactured from engineered boards with closed cell elastomer blocks on the underside to give uniform and consistent shock damping. The panels are laid in brickwork fashion on the sub-floor so that cross-joins do not coincide. They are linked to each other by a radiussed pivot joint.

The unique feature of Liberty™ is its “dual Durometer” (a sandwich of two different hardnesses tested by the Shore Durometer Test). This provides progressive compression under light and heavy loads providing the same “feel” and energy return to one or several dancers on the same panel.

SPECIFICATIONS

Composition
Harlequin Liberty™ panels are formed from an engineered compressed hardwood core, bonded with waterproof phenolic resins to a layer of cross-banded aspen on either side. Panels are surface-faced with a layer of maple, yielding absolute uniformity from panel to panel with no multiple glue lines to fail.

The pivot joint extends to within 1/2” (12.5mm) of the panel corners, ensuring that the corners are protected from failure by flexion under load. Long pivot locators enable panel to panel load to be distributed along a greater area, reducing the load factor per unit area exerted at the join. The corners and side of each panel are fully supported by elastomer blocks.

All Harlequin Liberty™ sprung panels are delivered pre-fabricated and ready for use.

Dimensions
Liberty™ panels are produced in standard size 96” x 48” (2.42m x 1.21m) and 48” x 48” (1.21m x 1.21m). Total thickness for each panel is 1 1/2” (38mm) for the permanent panel and 1 5/8” (42mm) for the stage panel.

Weight
Each standard Liberty™ panel size 96” x 48” weighs 75 lbs (34 kg) nominal for the permanent panel and 101 lbs (46 kg) for the stage panel.

Liberty™ Permanent Panels
Liberty™ permanent panels are simply cut by the installer to fit spaces of any dimension and are easily and quickly installed.

Liberty™ Stage Panels
Liberty™ stage panels are supplied with masonite backing securely bonded to the elastomer blocks on the underside. When installed on stage, an edge trim (kerb) is added at the front and back edges and ramps at the stage wings.

Accessories
Edge trim to hold stage panels tightly in position. Ramps for safe access at doorways and stage edges. Storage carts hold 20 panels for easy transport and storage.
