EPIC METALS CORPORATION

Specialty Deck Systems are available from Epic Metals to enhance the appearance and expand the purpose of a metal deck system. These systems make it unnecessary for a designer to limit the form and function of a building to whatever capabilities basic floor and roof decks possess. The information below is intended to introduce you to Epic Specialty Deck Systems; and to challenge you to incorporate into your next building a product that exceeds ordinary metal deck systems. Please contact Epic Metals for additional information.

Epic has been a manufacturer of quality floor and roof deck products since 1968. Today, our product line features Specialty Deck Systems including:

EPICORE®
Dovetail shaped ribs set this deck section apart from ordinary profiles.

WIDECK

Spans up to 50 feet with diaphragm bracing.

VERSATILITY
Many depths and gages to suit any Span.

UTILITY
Eliminates the need for a separate ceiling.

Available in galvanized, prime painted or finish coated.

THE SYSTEM
Prior to the introduction of SUPER WIDECK, spans in excess of 35 feet were limited to precast concrete panels or a maze of steel joist.

SUPER WIDECK eliminates the unfinished appearance of precast or joist and deck construction. Instead a clean plank finished ceiling is provided without the additional time and cost of installing a separate ceiling system. While other plated deck systems leave the finished ceiling surface with a pattern of 4 rows of weld indentations and marks along the length of each sheet, SUPER WIDECK provides an embossed surface. The appearance is achieved since SUPER WIDECK is attached together 3 inches to 7-1/2 inches above the finished surface of the ceiling inside the valley.

With the acoustical option of SUPER WIDECK superior acoustical performance is available to any system currently on the market today. Across many frequency ranges a noise reduction coefficient of 1.00 is possible.

The SUPER WIDECK system can be 80% lighter than the precast concrete panel alternative and when assembled at the jobsite considerable freight savings will be achieved. The weight savings provided by SUPER WIDECK can be transferred into additional savings in the structural steel framing and eliminating some foundations.

Acoustical insulation is diagonally placed inside of the SUPER WIDECK profile to provide the maximum noise reduction over the broadest level of sound frequency levels. Modifications can be made to accommodate the specific acoustical requirements your project may have.
