Trans-Lux pioneered electronic ticker technology with the first ticker tape
projection system installed at the New York Stock Exchange in 1923. Today,
Trans-Lux LED Jet® is the hallmark of financial markets with a reach that
extends well beyond traditional trading rooms to brokerages, retailers and
corporations around the world.
LED Jet is a traveling two-line display that shows real-time last-sale stock
prices via direct data feeds from a variety of leading industry sources. Flexible
hardware and software interfaces enable the use of graphics, logos and custom
messages. Displays are available in monochrome, tricolor and full color, and
can conform to concave and convex curves.
- Trading rooms, banks and brokerages as symbolic links to the financial industry
- Lobbies and board rooms to monitor market and portfolio activity
- Indoors and out, as architectural accents running up walls, in floors and across soffits
Graphical LED Jet
A traveling display driven by a PC with external software that shows graphic
images, real-time last-sale prices in full fractions to 64ths, logos, foreign
character sets, true type and bitmap fonts.
Non-graphical
ASCII Jet
A traveling two-line display, driven by a PC, that uses third party software
to interface to a data vendor. Used for ticker applications outside the U.S.
where Baudot code is not generated. A benefit of the ASCII Jet is that numerical
data can appear on the top and bottom line which enables ASCII messaging as
well as stock quotes for U.S. and international applications.
Baudot Jet
A traveling two-line display that accepts, interprets and displays U.S. ticker
code directly from source (Exchange/IXNet) or through software. Text data appears
on the top line, numbers appear on the bottom line.
LED Jets are available in several standard pixel heights and virtually unlimited
lengths created from standard modules. Typical viewing distance is approximately
50' per 1” of character height. Pixel heights include:
- 16 pixels - recommended for alphanumeric format.
- 24 pixels - minimum height recommended for graphical formats.
- 32 pixels - preferred height for graphical formats.
- 40 pixels - ideal for long distance viewing and high-resolution graphics due
to the greater number of pixels available to produce an image. Available for
outdoor models only. (Actual display dimensions vary based on pixel pitch and
enclosure - see sales representative for finished size.)
Colors: Monochrome red, green, blue or amber, dynamic tricolor, full color
