Product Overview - Indoor Displays
Trans-Lux offers a variety of indoor display products in several categories: Text Displays Text displays are designed to present text, numerals and symbols using module blocks with a 5 x 7 dot matrix. Optimal inter-line and inter-character spacing has been researched and designed into the displays, providing the best possible clarity and long distance viewing. Trans-Lux manufactures several LED text-only displays that are used to present alphanumeric data. There are several categories of text displays to choose from, as well as a number of products with varying features in each category. Multi-line Text Displays These are line-/character-oriented displays constructed using module blocks with a 5 x 7 dot matrix to form ASCII characters. Each block is fixed in position and has a unique address, similar to cells in a spreadsheet, representing a single ASCII character. Displays are described in terms of the number of lines high and the number of characters wide. Multi-line text displays are designed with preset inter-line and inter-character spacing that has been researched for the best possible clarity and optimal long distance viewing. DataWall® – Presents critical data from a data feed to a large audience. Single line text displays Text on single line displays “travels” across the face of the display. The display is fully populated with LEDs so there are no spaces between blocks. It is possible to show simple graphics; however, they are limited by the height of the display and by the complexity of dot-by-dot programming.
Clocks Text and Graphic Displays Text and Graphic Displays are multifunctional displays assembled using fully populated modules with no preset inter-line/inter-character spacing. Depending on the display selected, you can view text, graphics and animation, foreign character sets and special attention-getting text effects. Display sizes, configuration and pixel pitch vary by product. Trans-Lux manufactures a variety of text and graphical displays that are used to present a combination of alphanumeric text and charts, graphs, logos and foreign text. These displays are full-matrix, meaning that each display type is fully populated with LEDs so that the entire face of the display is usable and the transition of information across the display flows smoothly. These displays are not capable of displaying video. LED Jet® - the "original" electronic ticker, enhanced to meet today's modern requirements. Video Displays Video Displays are typically full color models designed specifically to run streaming video content and require sufficient computer “horsepower” to operate. Trans-Lux offers several indoor video technologies: LED, LCD and plasma.
