X-TREME^™ – Concrete Slab Vapor Barrier

X-TREME^™ is the new commercial and industrial construction vapor barrier that meets ASTM E-1745 Class A, B and C requirements. X-TREME^™ is the latest addition to the Tex-Trude family of quality products.

A true high performance vapor barrier, the X-TREME^™ products are composed of a new generation polyolefin/ polyethylene resins that enable it to guard against damage, molds, VOC glue failures, radon and methane gas.

Available in 10, 15 and 20 mil thicknesses, this high puncture resistance vapor barrier is engineered to withstand even the roughest of construction jobsite conditions and building traffic.

Using the latest technology, X-TREME^™ is designed for use under concrete slabs to protect against moisture migration, to control radon and many other soil contaminates. It is important to follow proper installation instructions in order for X-TREME^™ to reach its full potential.

Tex-Trude warrants this product to meet the published specifications and to be free of defects in workmanship and materials at the time of shipment from our factory. If any X-TREME^™ materials prove to contain manufacturing defects that substantially affect the performance, then Tex-Trude will at their option replace the materials or refund the purchase price. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY OFFERED BY TEX-TRUDE, LP AS IT RELATES TO X-TREME^™ PRODUCTS. THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TEX-TRUDE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR OTHER DAMAGES.

A physical inspection of the area designated for X-TREME^™ must be performed prior to the installation. The surface must be prepared in accordance with the industry standard and/or architectural specifications. X-TREME^™ 10 mil, 15 mil and 20 mil must be installed as defined in ASTM E-1643 (the procedure for the installation of a water vapor retarder used in contact with the earth or granular fill under concrete slabs). X-TREME^™ should be installed over tamped earth, sand, or aggregate base by unrolling and completely covering area to receive building slab or other specified area.

The seams must be overlapped a minimum of six (6) inches and sealed with X-TREME^™ Sealing Tape or it must be heat welded. All exposed penetrations must be sealed using the X-TREME^™ Sealing Tape per the manufacturer's recommendations.
