All BarnettBates Orsogril® material is manufactured on specialized Orsogril machinery designed to consistently produce extremely precise, electro-forged welds for reliably flat and true patterns. The result is an extremely practical problem solving architectural element offering added beauty, color and project security. Manufactured components from BarnettBates Orsogril® are typically finished with our TGIC polyester coat finish system complete with 20-year limited warranty, at a very reasonable cost.
Typical process:
The BarnettBates Orsogril® system offers maintenance-free and color-coordinated enhancement to overall project design. Add attractive area separation, security, shading and view-blocking. Two (2) louver and eight (8) grid patterns are available for your design consideration. Grid pattern material begins as a “mat” or fabric. Orsogril® brand mat/fabric is used exclusively for infill material. This assures you of precise tolerances, extremely flat and square infill grid construction with unique electro-forged full-penetrating welds. With the chosen grid pattern material as infill, all custom design/manufacturing/finishing is accomplished here in the Chicago area in strict accordance with project drawings and requirements. CAUTION: Some fabricators will use lower cost world market “Orsogril-like” material with no mention of Orsogril® in their advertising. Some manufacture and finish the material entirely outside of the US. It’s important to note that these same fabricators will likely appear on any list resulting from a Sweets “Orsogril” word search. At BarnettBates, we use only genuine Orsogril® for the architectural steel fences, infill and gates we manufacture, so you and your clients know exactly what is being provided. When you specify genuine BarnettBates Orsogril®, it will not cost you more and your clients will be assured of Orsogril® quality. AI – ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION BarnettBates Orsogril® architectural steel custom designed components are designed for quick and easy installation. Fencing example: A run of fence panels and upright posts is first loose assembled -- panels bolted to vertical steel posts with posts inserted loose into oversize concrete (sleeved) post holes. Recommended post hole diameter is twice the diameter of the post. Fence post spacing typically ranges 4’0” to 6’0”cc. The rough positioned fence assembly is then temporarily supported as necessary with bracing lumber blocked under panels and used as supports to establish the fence run in a plumb, level and firmly held position. Next, hi-strength steel-anchoring mortar or grout is added to set steel post uprights firmly in final position. Once erected, if a panel is damaged, it can be easily replaced by removing and reinstalling (typically) just 4 bolts. Gates should be designed to include posts for proper support. An option is hinge plates properly anchored to CMU or steel posts imbedded in brick or concrete posts/walls. Curve patterns, rolled panels and modifications for non-level terrain are simple adjustments to the basic installation procedures. All quotations include detailed drawings for customer approval of all design and assembly features. Fascia, infill panel systems and other applications are typically designed with uncomplicated angle clip fastening systems appropriate to the project. Our aim with all projects is to accomplish the design objective with an attractive and functional system which also minimizes installation and maintenance costs. CS – COATINGS, SURFACING BarnettBates Orsogril can supply all fabricated steel fencing and gates with a wide variety of finish systems … ranging from a carefully applied primer (prepped for on-site painting) to our finest “BB-20” system. Our recommendation: The “BB-20” 20-year limited warranty TGIC polyester powder coat finish system described below. This process provides an average of 7-10 mils total coating thickness. Coating withstands more than 4,000 hours salt spray. (Complete testing results available upon request). Color Range 11 standard colors are available. As added cost options, we can match most any color, provide one of the hundreds of RAL colors and provide specialty powders which include metal flake and textured effects.
