TRECO, The Three Rivers Extrusion Company, is a unique extension of Traco with three aluminum extrusion presses. TRECOs extrusions are also used by a wide assortment of outside customers in a variety of applications, including displays, automotive products, heat sinks and storefronts.
Finishing and Electrostatic Painting
Traco applies architectural paint finishes meeting AAMA 2603 or AAMA 2605 guidelines, in an in-house, four-booth electrostatic spray process and bake oven. They are available in a full range of colors, including custom colors to match existing historical buildings. We also utilize the "two-step" anodize process to provide Class I or Class II clear or Class I color anodize finish.
The 2-Color Collection by Traco
Tracos 2-color paint process paints the exterior and interior of an extrusion in a single, continuous process that produces a two-color painted extrusion ready for fabrication. The customer now has the power to choose how their windows will look both inside and out, selecting from a variety of paint colors.
Glass Insulating and Tempering
Traco is the only custom window manufacturer that tempers its own glass in-house. A special manufacturing process is applied, involving heating annealed glass to a temperature of 1200 degrees in the tempering oven and then quenching it with jets of air. The result is a unique product that is four times stronger than ordinary annealed glass that withstands bending, impact and rapid temperature changes and, if broken, falls into harmless pellets for safety. Traco's dual seal insulating glass process automatically sorts cut glass and moves it to the automated dual seal insulating glass line, which features the most advanced machinery in the industry.
Traco has installed lamination equipment to satisfy the increasing demand for laminated windows, storefront and entrances. The additional requirements for added safety and security are particularly evident for educational facilities, government buildings and coastal buildings due to International Building Codes (IBC) changes and recent threats to national security. The equipment purchased is the first of its kind installed in the United States. Traco has been tempering its own glass in-house as part of a routine production line for more than 20 years.
Computer Controlled Manufacturing
All of Traco's vertically integrated manufacturing processes are performed in-house, with operations scheduled, monitored, displayed and documented by an internal computerized network. With the help of an automatic XYZ cutter, Traco cuts its own glass. The equipment cuts glass lites into the desired shapes within one ten-thousandth of an inch, maximizing the glass used.
Traco's in-house testing facility includes a full-scale test chamber to ensure that each product has the highest performance characteristics. Traco windows and doors are certified for air and water performance, U-Value, condensation resistance, structural loading and forced entryearning ratings that exceed standards specified by recognized agencies and certification associations, including the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC) and the Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC). And Traco's testing facility has been independently tested and certified to assure maximum compliance with today's stringent standards.
Today, Traco commercial window manufacturing is located in a 950,000-sq. ft. facility in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
