Stitch-Tie - Re-Anchors Existing Veneers to Backup Structures

PROSOCO Stitch-Tie® is a stainless steel helical pin that reattaches existing masonry facades to backup structures. These retrofit ties can stabilize veneers of brick, stone, masonry, or precast concrete that have missing or corroded wall ties. The process eliminates the need to tear down and replace existing facades, and preserves the beauty and historical integrity of existing buildings.

FEATURES

  • Easy and fast to install in mortar joints without disruption to brick
  • Dry-sets without the need for epoxies or adhesives, and conceals without leaving scars.
  • Can be used in all types of weather and on most building materials.
  • Ties self-thread to materials and leave pilot holes that do not require cleaning.

OVERVIEW

The Stitch-Tie® is a stainless steel pinning solution for re-anchoring existing veneers to the back-up structure. The process eliminates the need to tear down and replace existing facades, and preserve the beauty and historical integrity of existing buildings. When Stitch-Tie pins are driven in pre-drilled "pilot" holes, the spiral-shaped tie threads itself into the building material. The helical shape provides a flexible in-plane connection between wythes, while maintaining a threaded connection to resist out-of-plane loading for both tension and compression resistance. The Stitch-Tie does not draw walls together - therefore tension forces between wythes are not present. They are installed in relatively small holes that are easily patched and concealed. Various diameters and lengths are available for numerous applications.
